Privacy

This notice covers this website and its waitlist. Last updated 7 October 2026.

The website

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as the address a request came from and the page asked for) to run and protect the service.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address, and nothing else. It is stored with Buttondown, the service that sends our emails. You first get an email asking you to confirm; nothing more is sent until you do.

We use your address only to tell you about Earshot: when you can try it, and news about it. We never sell it or share it with anyone else, and our emails carry no open or click tracking. Every email has a link to leave the list, and we delete your address whenever you ask.

The app

Earshot is built so that audio never leaves the detector phone: it decides on the phone whether it heard one of your sounds, and only that result (which sound, when, how sure) reaches our server, which keeps it for 30 days.
